Meca-Trade is an import company founded in 1984, which has for decades operated as one of the largest raw material suppliers for the Finnish steel and foundry industry. Other industries we serve include machinery and mining, in addition to which we supply materials for heat and surface treatment and mold production. We also deliver raw materials to other Nordic countries and Central Europe and provide our customers metallurgical and technical assistance in collaboration with our suppliers.
In 2007, JP-Ferroset merged with Meca-Trade, forming our current operations. Our headquarters are located in Pori, and our other sales offices are situated in Jyväskylä, Lahti, Espoo, Porvoo, and Jönköping. Our warehouses are distributed across various parts of Finland and Sweden to ensure smooth (Just In Time) material deliveries throughout our operational area. Our suppliers around the world each represent top expertise in their respective fields and create a solid foundation for long-term cooperation.

Our company is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified, a recognition of our reliability and systematic approach for our customers and other stakeholders. Most of our raw materials for the foundry and steel industries are REACH registered.
ISO 9001 is an internationally recognized quality management standard. Forming the framework for quality management, it is aimed at promoting continuous improvement and the enhancement of customer satisfaction. The standard helps companies offer more efficient services to customers and ensure that their products and services meet the requirements set by customers and authorities. Meca-Trade Oy was granted the ISO 9001 certificate in 2019, and since then, we have systematically developed our operations to be an even more dynamic operator in our sector.
The ISO 14001 standard defines the requirements for organizations to identify and proactively understand the environmental aspects and impacts of their activities, services, and products. The standard assists businesses in formulating their environmental policies and objectives and helps manage the obligation to comply with applicable laws and regulations. Meca-Trade Oy was granted the ISO 14001 certification in January 2024.
Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) is a European Union regulation. Its main goals are to protect the environment and human health, boost the competitiveness of the EU’s chemical industry sector, promote the development of alternative methods for assessing the hazards of substances (reducing animal testing), and to guarantee the free movement of goods within the EU.
Meca-Trade Oy has undertaken to comply with the goals and values set forth in REACH. We strive to ensure that REACH requirements are known and complied with at every stage of our delivery chain.
